The Learning Environment

Penn Junior Academy is a community. A community that enjoys a safe and positive learning environment with a great rapport between teachers and students. When the students understand that their teacher cares about them and wants them to do well, students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and taking risks in order to learn something new. To build these kinds of relationships, the teachers ensure they know each child’s strengths and interests, as well as their struggles and frustrations. The teachers act as positive models for learning and celebrating achievements.

Penn Junior Academy is situated in Repton Schoolhouse, a purpose-built and architect-designed learning environment designed to be comfortable, welcoming and to stimulate the children’s learning. At the heart of the school is the Library, reflecting our commitment to supporting all the children in our care in developing a genuine love of literature.
